Launch a fund

Launch a fund on Canton.

You are a fund sponsor: your name goes on the fund. We provide the Canton side, so you do not build it: setting up the fund, creating and redeeming shares, the daily value and the record. Your fund’s own parties sign. We never do.

What you get

A fund on Canton, without building the plumbing.

The fund, set up from a template

Pick the assets and how much of each goes into one share, for example cBTC, cETH or Canton Coin. It is configuration, not new code.

Creation and redemption in one step

A market maker delivers the basket and receives shares in one transaction, or the reverse. A share never exists without the assets behind it, and there is no settlement gap.

A daily value your parties sign

We calculate the NAV each day from the fund’s holdings and prices from Chainlink or Kaiko. Your administrator and the other parties check it and sign it on the ledger, or refuse it.

A fund others can rely on

Once its value is signed by the parties responsible, a lender can accept the shares as collateral, a venue can list them and an auditor can trace them, without redoing the checks.

The path

From a test fund to your first creation.

01

Pilot on DevNet

Your fund runs on Canton’s test network with real DevNet tokens, which have no money value. Your parties try their seats before anything relies on them.

02

Your legal wrapper

You set up the fund’s legal structure with your own counsel, and appoint your administrator and custodian.

03

Mainnet

The fund moves to Canton MainNet, with each party signing from its own keys.

04

First creation

A market maker delivers the first basket and the first shares exist.

Where we are today: two test funds run on Canton DevNet, and no outside party holds a seat yet. ETP Foundry is not authorised or registered in any jurisdiction. See Regulatory and Status.

What stays yours

You keep the fund. We run the engine.

Stays with youWhat that means
The legal wrapperYour structure, your documents, your counsel.
The administratorYou choose it. It checks the daily value against its own numbers and signs or refuses.
The custodianYou choose it. It confirms what it holds for the fund.
Authorised participantsYou decide which market makers may create and redeem.
DistributionWho you sell to, and where, is your business.

ETP Foundry never signs, never holds keys and never counts toward a decision.

Cost

Only the sponsor pays. Pricing on request.

The fund sponsor

  • The DevNet pilot has no fee.
  • At launch: an annual platform fee per fund, and/or a fee in basis points of the fund’s assets, priced per programme.
  • We share the numbers with you directly when we talk about your fund.

Everyone else: free

  • Seats are free: token issuers, administrators, custodians, lenders and others who sign never pay, and are never paid. A paid signature would invite the question of whose number it is.
  • Market makers pay us nothing to create or redeem.
  • Reading a fund’s published value is free.

A conflict we disclose. If a fund pays a fee in basis points, our fee rises with the fund’s value, which we calculate. The controls: we calculate but never sign, the ledger refuses a sign-off that includes us, and we do not trade the fund’s assets. Today we also operate every seat on DevNet, which is labelled on every value. See the conflicts policy.

Questions

Questions we are asked.

I hold a seat on a fund. Do I pay?

No. Seats are free and are never paid.

What does a fund cost?

The pilot on DevNet has no fee. For launch, pricing is on request and depends on the programme.

Can I keep my administrator and custodian?

Yes. You choose them, and they keep their jobs. They sign from their own systems.

Is this live with real money?

Not yet. Everything runs on Canton DevNet, a test network, and nothing is offered to investors.

Talk to us about a fund.

Tell us what the fund would hold and who would sit around it. A person reads every request the same day.

Taking a seat on a fund instead? See what we ask of each seat and request access.
